Conditions We Treat at Home
Our team includes senior Neuro Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists who specialise in disorders of the nervous system. We provide coordinated home-based rehabilitation for a range of progressive and acquired neurological conditions.
Parkinson's Disease
Specialist home physiotherapy to tackle stiffness, "freezing" of gait, tremor, and the small, shuffling movements (bradykinesia) that increase fall risk. Our OTs help with daily routines and pacing energy throughout the day.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
Managing fatigue, maintaining muscle strength, and adapting daily routines as symptoms fluctuate. We understand that MS varies day to day, and we tailor every session accordingly.
Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)
Cognitive and physical rehabilitation to support a gradual return to daily life. Our physio and OT team work together on movement, memory, and practical living skills.
Motor Neurone Disease (MND)
Compassionate, adaptive support to maximise independence and comfort for as long as possible. We adjust your programme as your needs change, focusing on what matters most to you.
Spinal Cord Injuries
Functional rehabilitation to improve mobility and safety at home. We work closely with your existing medical team to ensure a coordinated approach. View spinal surgery rehab.
Other Neurological Conditions
Including Guillain-Barré Syndrome, cerebral palsy, multi-system atrophy (MSA), and other conditions affecting the nervous system. Contact us to discuss your specific needs.
How Our Team Helps with Neurological Conditions at Home
Neurological conditions rarely affect just one part of your life. By combining physiotherapy (movement and physical function) with occupational therapy (daily living skills), we treat the whole person — not just the diagnosis. Most private providers offer one discipline or the other. We offer both, coordinated together.
Physiotherapy: Restoring Movement & Confidence
Our Neuro Physios understand how to retrain the brain and body to work together more efficiently. Treatment is tailored to your specific condition and how it affects you.
- Gait & balance — reducing the risk of falls and improving walking confidence, including strategies for "freezing" episodes
- Tone management — hands-on therapy to relieve spasticity and muscle stiffness that limit movement
- Strength & amplitude training — targeted exercises to combat weakness and slow movements (bradykinesia)
- Vestibular rehabilitation — specialist support for dizziness and balance disorders
Occupational Therapy: Enabling Daily Living
Our Neuro OTs focus on practical strategies to help you manage your day-to-day life with less struggle, preserving your independence and dignity.
- Fatigue management — teaching you how to conserve energy so you can do more of what matters
- Cognitive rehabilitation — strategies for memory, planning, and concentration challenges that often accompany neurological conditions
- Upper limb therapy — improving hand function for tasks like eating, dressing, and writing
- Equipment & adaptations — expert advice on aids and home modifications that keep you safe and independent
Why Neurological Rehabilitation Works Best at Home
Travelling to a clinic can be exhausting, especially if you are managing fatigue or mobility issues. By seeing you at home, we save your energy for what matters most: your therapy.
Rehabilitation is also most effective when it is relevant to real life. We help you navigate your stairs, get in and out of your bed, and make a drink in your kitchen. This "real-world" practice builds confidence where you need it most — in the environment you actually live in, not a clinical setting.
For family members and carers, home visits also mean your therapist can observe how you manage day to day. They can train carers in safe moving and handling, suggest environmental changes, and provide practical advice that translates immediately into better quality of life.
What to Expect from a Home Visit
Free phone consultation
Speak directly with our Clinical Director, Naomi. She will listen to your concerns, answer questions, and help you decide if home therapy is right for your situation.
Initial assessment visit
Your neuro therapist visits your home, assesses your current abilities and challenges, and creates a personalised rehabilitation plan. If you have discharge letters or scan results, these help us build the safest possible programme.
Regular sessions
Typically weekly visits, building strength, mobility, and daily living skills progressively. For progressive conditions, we focus on maintenance and management — keeping you strong, flexible, and independent for as long as possible.
Family communication
With your consent, we keep family members and carers updated on progress. We can also provide carer training in moving and handling to support your care between sessions.
Pricing
Home visit neurological physiotherapy and occupational therapy from £60 per session. Your initial assessment is a comprehensive 60-90 minutes session at £120. No hidden costs. The first 5 miles of travel are free.

What Families Say About Our Neurological Care
Independent reviews from families we have helped. Read all our 5-star Google reviews.
"My brother was diagnosed with Parkinsons 12 years ago, and as the condition progressed, he was not able to exercise and we knew he needed additional support. We found Medella on the internet and were introduced to our physiotherapist. The Parkinsons condition affects people in different ways. After a few visits she had established a great rapport with Christian. Each visit was tailored to his ability on the day. She devised programs that suited my brother, made them enjoyable and gave him a sense of accomplishment. He looked forward to the sessions and significant progress was made both in movement and self confidence. She supported me and the other carers with suggestions of exercise programs and activities to use throughout the week. She was a very good communicator and would update me about that week's session or of any issues that might have arisen. I found this invaluable. When other professional support was needed to improve the care program for my brother, she was there to give that advice or point us in the right direction. This holistic approach to physiotherapy made such a difference. I wish we had found you sooner. A big heartfelt thank you to Medella and the team."

PhysiotherapyFrequently Asked Questions
Do I need a doctor's referral?
No, you can contact us directly. However, if you have a complex neurological history, we may ask (with your permission) to see discharge letters or scan results to ensure we build the safest possible plan for you.
Can you help with progressive conditions like MS or Parkinson's?
Absolutely. While we cannot cure a progressive condition, specialist therapy is vital for maintaining function. We focus on “maintenance and management” — keeping you strong, flexible, and independent for as long as possible to prevent deterioration. Many of our clients with Parkinson’s or MS see us regularly over months or years.
Do I need both a Physio and an OT?
Not always, but they often work best together. We usually recommend an initial discussion to see which discipline you need most right now. Many of our clients start with one and bring in the other later as their needs change. Naomi can advise on the best approach during your free phone consultation.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your condition and goals. For acute conditions like brain injury, we may work intensively over several weeks. For progressive conditions like Parkinson’s or MS, many clients benefit from regular ongoing sessions to maintain function and adapt as things change. We will discuss a realistic plan during your first assessment.
Which areas do you cover?
We provide home visits across Hampshire, Dorset, and Wiltshire. This includes Southampton, Bournemouth, Poole, Salisbury, Ringwood, and the surrounding towns and villages.
