“Dizziness and balance problems can be frightening and isolating. I specialise in finding out exactly what’s causing the problem and treating it—often with remarkable results that transform people’s confidence.”

Bex (Rebecca) is Medella’s vestibular and balance specialist for the Christchurch and Wimborne area. As lead physiotherapist at Christchurch Hospital, she brings NHS leadership experience alongside her expertise in complex falls prevention and dizziness rehabilitation.

Early Career

Bex graduated from Keele University in 2009 and initially worked in orthopaedic and musculoskeletal settings. She then completed junior rotations at Bournemouth Hospital, gaining experience across stroke rehabilitation, respiratory care including ITU, outpatient musculoskeletal, and elderly care. This broad foundation serves her well when working with clients who have multiple issues.

Neurology Specialism

In 2013, Bex progressed to a senior position within a neurological therapy team, working both in inpatient care and the community. She treated patients with stroke, brain injury, Guillain-Barré, and Multiple Sclerosis, building the expertise that now underpins her falls prevention work.

Current NHS Role

Bex now leads the physiotherapy team at Christchurch Hospital. This leadership role keeps her at the forefront of clinical practice and gives her insight into the full patient journey from acute care through to community rehabilitation.

Vestibular Expertise

Bex’s specialism has advanced to include complex falls prevention and vestibular rehabilitation—helping people with dizziness, vertigo, and balance disorders. She has completed a Master’s module at Nottingham University in stroke rehabilitation and attended specialist courses in neurological and vestibular management. Many of her clients have been suffering with dizziness for years before finding effective treatment.
