“When someone’s had a fall or a sudden decline, the priority is getting them stable and safe at home. That’s where my rapid response experience comes in—I know how to assess the situation quickly and put a plan in place.”

Jo is one of the most experienced physiotherapists on the Medella team, with over 24 years of clinical experience. She covers the coastal area from Bournemouth and Poole through Christchurch to Lymington and the New Forest, bringing a calm, experienced presence to clients and their families.

Leadership & Clinical Roles

Since graduating in 2000, Jo has held various clinical and leadership roles in both the NHS and private practice. This diverse background has given her extensive experience in treating post-operative recovery, orthopaedic injuries, neurological conditions, and the management of frailty. She’s comfortable making clinical decisions and knows when to escalate concerns.

Rapid Response Expertise

Jo has particular expertise in rapid response for patients in health crises. When someone has had a fall, a sudden decline, or a difficult hospital discharge, Jo knows how to assess the situation, stabilise the condition, and avoid unnecessary hospital admissions. Her experience means she can quickly identify what’s needed and put a recovery plan in place.

Frailty Management

Many of Jo’s clients are living with frailty—a combination of factors that make them vulnerable to sudden decline. Jo is skilled at identifying these risks and working proactively to build strength, improve balance, and reduce the likelihood of crises. Her focus is always on keeping people safe at home.

Post-Operative Recovery

Jo has extensive experience supporting people recovering from hip and knee replacements, spinal surgery, and other orthopaedic procedures. She understands the recovery timelines, the exercises that make the biggest difference, and how to help people regain confidence in their mobility after surgery.
