“Recovery isn’t just about physical ability—it’s about getting back to the activities that give life meaning. I help people find ways to do the things they love, even when circumstances have changed.”

Kate is a highly experienced occupational therapist covering the East Dorset area, from Bournemouth and Poole through to Ringwood and Verwood. With over two decades of experience spanning both mental and physical health settings, she brings a uniquely holistic perspective to her work.

Hospital Experience

Kate graduated from Brunel University in 2001 and spent a significant portion of her career at Poole Hospital. She gained extensive experience across trauma orthopaedics, oncology, general medicine and surgery, care of the elderly, and the rapid assessment unit for the elderly. This hospital background means she understands the full picture of a client’s health journey.

Holistic Approach

Kate tailors her assessments and interventions to support each individual’s unique journey—whether that’s developing new skills, recovering lost abilities, or finding new ways to maintain meaningful activities. As a skilled rehabilitation occupational therapist, she excels in helping clients build confidence alongside practical capability.

Supporting People Through Loss

Kate has developed a particular interest in supporting individuals who have experienced loss and the associated functional decline that often accompanies it. Whether that’s the loss of a spouse, a change in health status, or the loss of independence, Kate understands how grief affects every aspect of daily life. Her personal experiences and deep understanding of loss enrich her practice.

Anxiety Management

Kate’s expertise extends to helping individuals understand and manage symptoms of anxiety. She uses techniques like graded exposure to help clients gradually engage with activities they had been avoiding—whether that’s leaving the house, cooking a meal, or simply being alone. This skill is particularly valuable for clients whose confidence has been shaken by falls or illness.
