“I believe that everyone deserves the chance to live safely and independently at home. My passion is working closely with each client to build a personalised plan that not only restores strength and mobility, but also confidence and peace of mind.”

Naomi is the founder and Clinical Director of Medella. She established the service in 2010 after recognising a real need for home-based physiotherapy that provides the slow-stream rehabilitation often unavailable through the NHS. Based in Ringwood, she now leads a team of specialist physiotherapists and occupational therapists serving families across Hampshire, Dorset, and Wiltshire.

Why Home Visits?

Recovering in your own environment is often more effective than visiting a clinic. Naomi eliminates the stress of travel and waiting rooms, allowing her to assess your mobility where it matters most—safely in your own home. This approach is central to Medella’s mission of helping older adults regain independence without the hassle of hospital appointments.

Background and Experience

Naomi graduated from Cardiff University in 2008 and gained broad experience across several Cardiff hospitals, including the University Hospital of Wales. Her early career covered respiratory care, musculoskeletal rehabilitation, brain injury rehab, elderly care, and intermediate care teams.

She was instrumental in setting up a new therapy service in the A&E department of Prince Charles Hospital, where the goal was to avoid unnecessary hospital admissions when patients could be safely treated at home. This experience shaped her philosophy of proactive, preventive care.

Specialisation

Since 2010, Naomi has specialised in complex elderly care and hospital admission avoidance. She particularly enjoys working with clients who have dementia and those eager to return to a higher level of mobility and function following illness or a hospital stay.

NHS Partnership

In 2013, Naomi relocated to her home town of Ringwood and secured a clinical leadership position in the Older Person’s Therapy team at Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Although she left full-time NHS work to focus on Medella and her family, she maintains strong connections with local NHS services.

Her extensive knowledge of NHS and social services in the local area means she can guide patients on services they may be eligible for, helping families navigate the often-confusing healthcare landscape.
