“The right piece of equipment or a simple home adaptation can be life-changing. I love helping people find practical solutions that let them stay safe and independent in the home they love.”
Rosie is one of Medella’s most experienced occupational therapists, covering the widest geographical area of any team member—from Salisbury and Southampton across to Bournemouth, Poole, and everywhere in between. Her dual expertise in home adaptations and stroke rehabilitation makes her invaluable for clients who need both practical home modifications and specialist neurological support.
Finding Her Passion
After graduating in 2009 and completing rotations at Bournemouth Hospital, Rosie realised her true passion was helping people in their own homes—not in clinical settings. She moved into a social services role where she became a specialist in adaptations and equipment provision, learning how the right changes to someone’s environment can transform their quality of life.
Home Adaptations Expertise
Rosie has extensive experience working alongside councils, charities, and housing associations to support major adaptations. Whether it’s arranging stair lifts, level-access showers, wheelchair ramps, or grab rails, she knows how to navigate the system and get things done. She understands the funding options available and can guide families through the sometimes-confusing process of getting adaptations approved and installed.
Stroke Rehabilitation
Rosie currently works as a Senior Occupational Therapist in the NHS Community Stroke Rehabilitation team, alongside her private work with Medella. This means her clinical knowledge is always up-to-date and evidence-based. She is highly experienced in assessing and treating stroke patients to maximise their recovery, covering upper limb rehabilitation, fatigue management, visual perception difficulties, anxiety management, and advice on driving following a stroke.
Practical Problem-Solving
What sets Rosie apart is her practical, solution-focused approach. She doesn’t just identify problems—she finds ways to fix them. Whether that’s sourcing the right equipment, recommending home modifications, or teaching new techniques for daily tasks, Rosie helps clients and their families see a clear path forward.
