“I’ve spent my career learning how to help people avoid hospital—whether that’s through rapid response when things go wrong, or building strength and confidence so problems don’t happen in the first place.”
Seena brings over 20 years of clinical expertise to the Medella team, with a strong background in both acute hospital and community settings. Based in the Bournemouth and Poole area, she provides home visits across East Dorset, combining her hospital-level knowledge with the personal, unhurried approach that home-based care allows.
Hospital Experience
After completing her Master’s degree in 2009, Seena joined the Royal Bournemouth Hospital as a Senior Physiotherapist. She worked across ITU, AMU, and various medical and surgical wards, deepening her expertise in acute care and the rehabilitation of patients with complex, multi-factorial conditions. This experience means she’s comfortable managing clients with multiple health issues, not just straightforward mobility problems.
Urgent Response & Admission Avoidance
Seena later served with the Solent NHS Trust’s Urgent Response Service, delivering community-based physiotherapy specifically designed to prevent hospital admissions. When someone is in crisis at home—a fall, a sudden decline, a discharge that isn’t going well—Seena knows how to stabilise the situation and put a recovery plan in place.
Community Rehabilitation
Following her urgent response work, Seena joined the Christchurch Integrated Community Rehabilitation Team. Here she specialised in falls management, post-operative recovery, and elderly rehabilitation in the home environment. This is where she developed her passion for home-based care—seeing first-hand how much better people recover when they’re comfortable and surrounded by familiar things.
Current Practice
Seena now combines her private work with Medella with ongoing NHS commitments, keeping her skills sharp and her knowledge of local services current. Her extensive network within the NHS and social services means she can help families navigate the system and access additional support when needed.
